Our Sensing the World Contest Winners Have Been Announced!
We challenged makers all over the world to start “Sensing the World” using the Cypress PSoC Analog Coprocessor kit. The contest, in partnership with Hackster and Mouser, was designed to showcase how easy it is to design sensor-based embedded solutions using Cypress’ technology and the endless ways we can enable objects to observe and report on the world around us using analog sensors.
We want to thank everyone who participated and made the contest possible. We were excited to see 503 makers signed up, 159 ideas were submitted and 83 projects were created. Drumroll please as we announce our three lucky makers who were selected as the contest winners:
Best of The Americas: Tom Minnich and his Theremin musical instrument
“The Analog Coprocessor Pioneer Kit, CY8CKIT-048 inspired me to think about how the Cypress PSoCs can be used to recreate classic analog musical instruments.” – Tom
Best of Asia Pacific & Australia: Team Locogenii (Narashiman P and Mahesh Subramanian) and their Aquaponics Monitoring and Control System (AMACS)
“AMACS stands for Aquaponics Monitoring and Control System, which could be a one step standalone solution to take care of your aquaponic system by continous control, monitor and maintenance of an aquaponic system which is made using PSoC Analog Co-processor ARM M0+.” – Team Locogenii (Narashiman P and Manesh Subramanian)
Best of Europe & Africa: Abdullah Sadiq and his smart home controller using PSoC and LinkIt ONE
“It is basically a proof of concept project showing how you can use analog sensors attached with the PSoC Analog Co-Processor, send them to the Blynk server through LinkIt ONE via WiFi. IFTTT is then used to control your Nest Thermostat, your Philips Hue lights, your Garageio or anything 'smart' enough to connect to the internet, based on the analog sensor data from the PSoC.” – Abdullah
Stayed tuned to Core & Code as we highlight the winning makers in our Maker of the Month blog series. You’ll find out more about the makers, their winning projects and what they love about Cypress technology.
Even though the contest is over, you can still show off the cool projects you make with the PSoC Analog Coprocessor. You can purchase a kit here and share your projects on our Hackster page or tweet us @CypressSemi. We love seeing your ideas come to life with PSoC and we can’t wait to see how you use Cypress technology to solve your most challenging design problems!
